*** IMPORTANT NOTICE***
We will be returning home in January of 2005 for several months to raise additional support in order to return for an additional 4 or 5 years to work in the ministry here in Peru.  We will also be using this time to recruit new missionaries for the work in Peru.  If you would like to have us share with your church, Sunday school class, in your mission conference,  or other group, we would love to hear from you in order to schedule a time to visit.  Please contact us by e-mail at acivey@mindspring.com.

"Now this is eternal life:  that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." John 17:3 NIV

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the name of our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We praise the Lord Jesus for having so wonderfully blessed us and for having sent his Holy Spirit to guide and teach us. We hope and pray that He has been blessing you wonderfully during this year and that your life has been filled with His grace and mercy.  Thank you for your continued prayers for us and support of the ministry here in Peru.  We definitely see the results of you praying for us.  You are special people called by our Lord Jesus Christ to minister to His children.  Thank you for your faithfulness to His calling.  Thank you for your love for Him, for us, and for His children.

The Lord Jesus Christ continues to pour his Holy Spirit out on us and open doors for us here in Peru.  We continue to see more and more fruit from the ministry and we are continually amazed at the contacts the Lord Jesus is giving us to expand the work here.  Mary Alice had an opportunity to present a workshop on Kid's Club to four churches in La Merced in the high jungle.  The churches represented in the workshop were the Evangelical Church of Peru, the Assemblies of God, the Pentecostal Church, and an independent church.  Arthur also presented a workshop on the need for and basic principles of discipleship.  Approximately 35 people were present.  An added blessing is that one of our faithful disciples from Hunacayo, Jorge, and his wife, Giovanna, have moved to La Merced because of work.  Jorge was with us in the workshops and will be working with these local churches to start and maintain new Kid's Club ministries.

We also had the great blessing of finishing our book of Kid's Club lessons this month.  This book has 139 lessons with their puppet and drama scripts, teachings, and activities.  This is a result of over two years worth of work.  We are now able to provide this resource to all of the Kid's Club leaders and others who wish to make use of it for children's ministries.

Arthur was able to finish the construction of the structure for the church in Puente Paucartambo.  This project included providing and installing electrical and water service for the church site, and construction of the footings, columns, and concrete roof structure over an existing concrete floor and walls.  The roof structure is designed and constructed to provide for a sanctuary area on the second floor in the future and double the size of the first floor.  The task for the local church is to grow their congregation and complete the wall construction and install the lighting and electrical system for the building.

Arthur had the opportunity to teach two sessions in the School for Parents sponsored by the Colegio El Camino which is the school our children attend.  He gave one presentation on "Sexual Purity" and the other on " Boundaries and Discipline for Children".  All of the parents responded well to the presentations and were grateful to have these subjects presented.  These are two areas of great need here in the Peruvian society.

We were able to celebrate a special event for our family this month.  Mary Beth had her eleventh birthday.  Since Mary Beth is more Peruvian than North American, we had to celebrate Peruvian style with a big party.  Mary Beth invited about 15 of her friends, which included many of the young people we work with, and, as is the case here, many of them brought a friend along.  It was a special time for all of us.

Please be in prayer with us for the continued transition of the Kid's Club ministries and our efforts to find and train additional workers for this ministry.  Pray also for the discipleship and leadership training and the youth cell ministry, and that God would continue to impart His vision to these young people.  Please be in prayer for upcoming transition back to the states and for opportunities to raise the additional support we need to return to the work in Peru.  Please continue to pray and thank the Lord Jesus for our relationship with Mision-AMEN and our relationship with the all of the churches here.  Most importantly we would like to ask you to covenant with us and the youth leadership team to be in regular prayer and fasting for the ministry to the lost and dying youth of Huancayo and the desperate situation here in Peru.  Please pray for the leaders in the churches here; for their spiritual protection and growth in the Lord Jesus.  Also be in prayer for Obed Alvarez, the head of Mision-AMEN, as well as their other leaders and missionaries.  Please pray for our safety as we travel, and that we will boldly speak God's Word wherever we go.

We pray that God is drawing you closer and closer to Him every day. God bless you.  We love you.

                                                                                                                           Yours in Christ,
