"Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make know the mystery of the gospel, ..."   Ephesians 6:19 NIV.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the name of our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We praise the Lord God for having sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who has wonderfully blessed us, and for having sent his Holy Spirit to guide and teach us. We hope and pray that He has been blessing you wonderfully during these past months and that your life has been filled with His grace and mercy.  We want to give you a special thanks for your continued prayers for us and support of the ministry in Peru.  We definitely see the results of your prayers for us.  You are special people called by our Lord Jesus Christ to minister to His children.  Thank you for your faithfulness to His calling.  Thank you for your love for Him, for us, and for His children.

We have been very blessed again this month to see more fruit of all of the prayers that you have been offering up to God on our behalf.  During September we shared about the Peru ministry to the folks at Thomaston First United Methodist Church, Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church, and Asbury United Methodist Church.  Arthur, Benjamin, and Joshua shared at the 27/17 Men's Ministry.  We also had the privilege of praying with several individuals who are part of our Peru ministry prayer team.  Arthur also had to complete a continuing education course for his professional engineering license.  In October, Arthur and Mary Alice attended the bi-annual Mission Society field leaders training meeting with other Mission Society field leaders from the different fields around the world.  Arthur finished up the repairs on the house, and we packed up our US home to return to Peru. We were blessed with a great tenant for the house, thanks to your prayers.  Our pledged support has reached a level of approximately 87% of our projected budget. Please be in prayer for additional funding and for additional persons to be called to work with us in Peru.

2005 Claxton Family Reunion

Our final weekend in the states was spent with Arthur's mother's family, the Claxtons, at a family reunion in Girard, Georgia, and with Mary Alice's mother in Tyrone, Georgia.  It was a special blessing, especially to Arthur, to spend time with extended family before our return to Peru.  Please be in prayer for our mothers, Mary Anne Slaton and Mildred Ivey, as they had to say good-bye to children and grandchildren again and see them leave for another extended period of time.

We arrived back in Peru on October 26th, and met with Obed and Cindy Alvarez of Mision-AMEN (now called NEWMA).  On October 28th, we took the long bus ride to Huancayo to return to what has become home for us.  We were blessed to be able to rent the same house that we were in before, and for less money.  What a blessing!  Many of our young adults helped us move our stored belongings back into the house, and by the end of the month we were functioning out of the house again.  Unfortunately, it will take a little longer to get telephone and internet access.  The children were able to visit friends and their old school.  Mary Beth was especially happy to be able to play with her friends again.  We will be working to re-establish contact with many of our workers during the next month and getting a real idea how they have been doing in our absence and the direction for the ministry in the near future.

We have already been scheduling mission teams for 2006 and currently have nine teams on the calendar.  Four of these teams will be medical mission teams.  We are working hard to prepare for the first team that will arrive on December 29th, and a medical team that will arrive on February 27th.  We will be participating with, but do not have the primary responsibility for a team coming at the end of January, also.   Please be in prayer for these teams and the preparations.

The Lord Jesus continues to awe and bless us with the work here in Peru.  Pastor Pablo Paredes, lay pastor in Palcazu, told us that they now have three churches in Palcazu that have grown to the point that they have formally elected leadership from among their own membership, and have organized their respective administrative boards.  This new work in the jungle continues to grow and produce fruit.  Please pray for the current workers and for the Lord to raise up additional workers for this harvest.

Please continue to be in prayer with us as we transition back into the ministry here in Peru.  Please also pray that we can find additional persons called to be part of the missionary team in Peru.  Covenant with us to continue in prayer for the young adult leadership team and their continued ministry to the spiritually lost and dying youth of Huancayo.  Please pray for the leaders of  the churches in Peru, and for their spiritual protection and growth in the Lord Jesus.  Also be in prayer for Obed Alvarez, the head of Mision-AMEN, as well as their other leaders and missionaries.  Please pray for our safety as we travel, and that we will boldly speak God's Word wherever we go.

We pray that God is drawing you closer and closer to Him every day. God bless you.  We love you.

  Yours in Christ,

Arthur, Mary Alice, Benjamin, Joshua, and Mary Beth Ivey
