"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
Dear Brothers and Sisters in
Christ,
Grace and
peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. We
praise the Lord God for all He is doing in our lives and in the ministry
here in Peru, for filling us with His Holy Spirit to guide and direct each
of our steps, and for pouring out His grace upon us through His precious
Son, Jesus Christ. We hope and pray that He has been blessing you
wonderfully during this past month and that your life has been filled with
His glorious riches and mercy. We want to give you a special
thanks for your continued prayers for us and support of the
ministry in
The Lord Jesus Christ continues to sustain us in the ministry here. If He did not do this, the fear we would face in meeting the challenges of the growing ministry would be more than we could handle. Everyday we must trust in Jesus to provide for the great spiritual and material needs that face us. It would be easy to become dismayed, if it were not for the Lord answering the prayers of the saints offered up on our behalf.
We had the privilege of baptizing four young people that have been participating in the discipleship ministry this month. They attend church at the Casa de Oracion - Quechua in Chilca that we are working with to advance the Gospel among the Quechua speaking peoples south of Huancayo. We celebrated their baptism with many of the brothers and sisters from the church. These four young people will be part of the teams that will open new discipleship cells. Please be in prayer for them and the work that they are a part of.

We had our first discipleship groups complete the first 10 months of the discipleship program and receive their certificates for Basic Discipleship. Twenty eight in all advanced to the Intermediate Discipleship course. We celebrated with an awards dinner and the presentation of their certificates. In December one of our second generation groups, led by one of the members of the first group, will also receive their certificates and advance to the next level. The Lord has also added to the number of persons participating in the discipleship ministry by giving us two more groups this month in Huancayo. The numbers in the jungle ministries have grown, also. There are now 70 participating in Shiringamazu and 20 in Palcazu. The community chief of Shiringamazu, Jorge Ochoa, sent Arthur a letter of gratitude for the discipleship ministry that said, "... this study for us is very important, because it is helping us to correct many doubts and errors that we had been previously taught that were hindering us from developing correctly the ministries that God has called us to in the way the Bible teaches us. Now, we understand that as children of God we have the right and responsibility to minister to others." Please pray for the continuation of this ministry and our four missionaries in Shiringamazu: Genaro, Luis, Johnatan, and Keven.

Genaro, Luis, Jonathan and Keven traveled to one of our other works in the jungle to help Pablo Paredes open our Christian discothèque there. In the first week 381 young adults and youth gave their lives to the Lord. Pablo is now working with Arthur to plan the discipling process for them.
Jim Ramsay, a good friend that was a missionary to Kazakhstan for 10 years and has now taken a position in the home office of The Mission Society, came to visit us for a week. This was a real blessing for us and a time of renewal, especially for Arthur. Jim saw some of the ministries that are going on in Huancayo and got to experience some of the geographic challenges that Peru offers. Jim shared in the chapel in the children's school and with our prayer group on Friday night. He was able to meet and learn about the ministries from some of our national workers and leaders. Please be in prayer for Jim as he transitions to his new job in The Mission Society and begins the tremendous task of helping to care for the field missionaries.

Two other special events occurred this month, also. We were able to have dinner with Roly and Chio, the parents of Mary Beth's friend Sammy. Mary Alice and Arthur were able to share the Gospel with them and both prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We praise the Lord for this special blessing. The other event was Benjamin's 18th birthday. We had to celebrate in Lima, because Benjamin now has to have his own visa. This required us to spend half of the day doing immigration processes. We did get to take him to eat at Chili's for his birthday dinner. For those of you who may not know, Lima is a 7 hour bus ride from Huancayo. We praise the Lord for allowing Benjamin to get his visa as he can now stay another year with us to work with Arthur and finish some advanced place high school courses before returning to the states for his higher education.
Please continue to be in prayer for
the continued growth in the ministries here in
We pray that God is drawing
you closer and closer to Him every day. God bless you. We love
you.
Yours in
Christ,

Arthur, Mary Alice,
Benjamin, Joshua, and Mary Beth Ivey
