"Jesus answered and said to him, "What I do you do not realize now, but you will understand hereafter." John 13:7 NAS

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the name of our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We praise the Lord Jesus for having so wonderfully blessed us and for having sent his Holy Spirit to guide and teach us. We hope and pray that He has been blessing you wonderfully during this year and that your life has been filled with His grace and mercy.  Thank you for your continued prayers for us and support of the ministry here in Peru.  We definitely see the results of you praying for us.  You are special people called by our Lord Jesus Christ to minister to His children.  Thank you for your faithfulness to His calling.  Thank you for your love for Him, for us, and for His children.

The Lord Jesus Christ continues to pour his Holy Spirit out on us and open doors for us here in Peru.  We continue to see more and more fruit from the ministry and we are continually amazed at the contacts the Lord Jesus is giving us to expand the work here.  As you may know, Mision-AMEN is our Peruvian sponsor ministry here in Peru and works with us to make it possible for us to maintain our residency here.  We have been able to work more closely with persons from that ministry during the last several months, which for us has been very rewarding.  The first weekend in October we participated in a Christian Rock Music Concert with three Christian Bands made up of some of the young people from Mision-AMEN and a one or two of our own.  Christian Rock videos were projected on a large screen as part of the event, also.  We worked with a young man named Israel Gomero, who was trained by Mision-AMEN's missionary school.  He did most of the work to make this event possible. The target audience was, of coarse, non-Christian, unchurched, youth and young adults.  Arthur shared his testimony and a message with those that attended.  The Holy Spirit moved and a large number of those in attendance prayed to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

In July of this year, we worked with a team from Mayo United Methodist Church and Mision-AMEN to have a Medical Mission in CantaMision-AMEN had been evangelizing the Canta valley with a vision to claim the entire valley for Christ.  The medical mission was a big help toward achieving this vision.  Because of the influence of the medical mission, churches are being planted in various places in the valley.  A key place is Yangas.  This month we were able to purchase a plot of land offered at a very good price by someone that was influenced for Christ by the Medical Mission.  We now have a small church building on the site.

We were also able to continue the work in Satipo.  With the aid of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church we were able to finish the renovation of the kitchen in the parsonage.  We were also able to completely renovate the electrical system for the sanctuary.  We are currently in the process of working on the building for the pastoral training school in Satipo and hope to finish the dining room and kitchen by the end of next month.

We had the special privilege of taking our group of Shoeshine Boys on a paseo (outing) this month.  Genaro and Samuel hiked with them from San Jeronimo to Ingenio where they had a devotional and played some soccer and other games.  We then had a nice lunch of fresh trout together.  This group continues to grow.  We are blessed to be leaving them with capable lay pastors, Genaro and Samuel, to continue the work after we leave.

We were blessed to host one of our missionaries, Martin Reeves, who is working on the north coast in Trujillo for a week.  He came to Huancayo to learn more about the children's ministry (Kid's Club) and our pastoral training ministry, Probitem. Arthur also finished the translation of a key discipleship book we are using to train our young people.  We can now leave them with the completed translation when we leave for the States.  We have also completed the leadership transition in all of our Kid's Clubs except for two and will be finalizing these next month.

Please be in prayer with us for the continued transition of the Kid's Club ministries and our efforts to find and train additional workers for this ministry.  Pray also for the discipleship and leadership training and the youth cell ministry, and that God would continue to impart His vision to these young people.  Please be in prayer for the upcoming transition back to the states and for opportunities to raise the additional support we need to return to the work in Peru.  Please continue to pray and thank the Lord Jesus for our relationship with Mision-AMEN and our relationship with the all of the churches here.  Most importantly we would like to ask you to covenant with us and the youth leadership team to be in regular prayer and fasting for the ministry to the lost and dying youth of Huancayo and the desperate situation here in Peru.  Please pray for the leaders in the churches here; for their spiritual protection and growth in the Lord Jesus.  Also be in prayer for Obed Alvarez, the head of Mision-AMEN, as well as their other leaders and missionaries.  Please pray for our safety as we travel, and that we will boldly speak God's Word wherever we go.

We pray that God is drawing you closer and closer to Him every day. God bless you.  We love you.

                                                                                                                           Yours in Christ,
