"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you:  God is light; in him there is no darkness at all."

1 John 1:5 NIV

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.  We praise the Lord God for all He is doing in our lives and in the ministry here in Peru, for filling us with His Holy Spirit to guide and direct each of our steps, and for pouring out His grace upon us through His precious Son, Jesus Christ. We hope and pray that He has been blessing you wonderfully during this past month and that your life has been filled with His glorious riches and mercy.  We want to give you a special thanks for your continued prayers for us and support of the ministry in Peru.  We definitely see the results of your prayers for us and for the ministry here.  You are special people called by our Lord Jesus Christ to minister to His children.  Thank you for your faithfulness to His calling.  Thank you for your love for Him, for us, and for His children.

We are grateful that the Lord Jesus continues to call some of our workers into deeper relationship with Him and to prepare them to share the Light of Jesus Christ in the darkness of this world.  Genaro and Miguel returned to their missiology studies at the Escuela Misiologia de Latin America the first of this month.  They continue to do well in their studies and in their practice periods.  Genaro works in our ministry in Shiringamazu for his practice periods, and Miguel is working in a church planting group with NEWMA (Mision- AMEN) in Lachaqui in the Canta Valley.  Both are growing much stronger in their walk with the Lord and in their knowledge and skills as missionaries.  We also received word form one of our young men that he too plans to start studying in the mission school in the next cycle.  His name is Ivan.  He was a great help to us in starting the Kid's Club work during our last term and now wants to advance his abilities  in the area of missions, also.  This is great news for us as we are continually praying for the Lord to call workers.  Please be in prayer for the continued growth and development of these young men as missionaries for our Lord Jesus Christ.

A medical team of 17 from Dalton First United Methodist Church under the leadership of Jim Davis came to work in Tarapoto.  We worked with the Esmirna Church to provide medical care to over 2300 patients.  As always, we not only treated their bodies, but their spirits as well, and were blessed to have over 1000 folks give their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.  It was a special blessing for us as the entire Ivey family was able to go an participate together in the support of this medical team.  Joshua translated for Dr. Bill McDaniel, Benjamin for Dr. John Church, Mary Beth for Hannah and Haley Cabe, and Mary Alice for Nancy Bell.

The first of the month Arthur traveled to Roswell United Methodist Church to participate in their Global Impact Celebration.  Cynthia Alvarez and her son, Jesse, with our Peruvian partner ministry, NEWMA,  were also able to attend.  It was a wonderful time of celebration, renewal, development of partnerships, and planning for future ministry.  Mary Alice, as always, faithfully kept the ministry in Huancayo moving in Arthur's absence.  She spent a good bit of time preparing for the start of her English classes at the Colegio El Camino in March. Between the trip to Roswell and the trip to Tarapoto, Arthur had the privilege of taking Mary Beth and Mary Alice out for a Valentine's dinner in Lima.

The McEuens, Ash, Audra, Kia, Aylis, and Todd, came to visit and get to know the ministry here in Huancayo.  They are in the process of becoming full time missionaries with The Mission Society to work with us here in the Peru ministry.  Ash is a pastor, and Audra a teacher.  Both of these callings are much needed here in the ministry.  Pray that they would rapidly raise their support and be able to arrive in Peru soon.

Please continue to be in prayer for the continued growth in the ministries here in Peru, especially in the Canta Valley, Huancayo, Palcazu, Pelmaz, Bermudez, Shiringamazu,  Sambillo Alto, Rio Azul Ugarteche, San Augustine, KM 40 and Tinahuani.  Also, pray for the ministries in Huancayo, especially the Colegio El Camino. Please continue to pray that the Holy Spirit would continue to awaken and change hearts among the young adults of Huancayo.  Please give praise to the Lord for bringing us additional persons called to be part of the missionary team in Peru.  Covenant with us to continue in prayer for the young adult leadership team and their continued ministry to the spiritually lost and dying youth of Huancayo.  Please pray for the leaders of  the churches in Peru, and for their spiritual protection and growth in the Lord Jesus.  Also be in prayer for Obed and Cynthia Alvarez, the head of Mision-AMEN, as well as their other leaders and missionaries.  Please pray for our safety as we travel, and that we will boldly speak God's Word wherever we go.

We pray that God is drawing you closer and closer to Him every day. God bless you.  We love you.

  Yours in Christ,

Arthur, Mary Alice, Benjamin, Joshua, and Mary Beth Ivey
