“I have complete confidence in
the gospel; it is God’s power to save all who believe, first the Jews and also
the Gentiles.” Romans 1:16 (Today’s English Version)
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Grace and peace to you from God our
Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. We praise the Lord God for
all He is doing in our lives and in the ministry here in
The
Lord Jesus Christ blessed us very much in the month of September, as He always
does. First of all, we began evangelism
training with 2 classes of 4 people.
They are learning a gospel presentation that explains the basic principles
of the gospel that are supported by Bible verses and illustrations. Each week we go out to the streets and to the
parks to share the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have just gone out for 3 weeks, and
already 31 people have given their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. We praise God for what He is doing in the
hearts of people in Huancayo and all over

Rita and Mary Alice sharing the Gospel.
God did something
very special this month for us. He has
called Ivan Cruz, a youth that worked with us in the past, to work with us in
missions. Ivan is very interested in
working in the area of evangelism. He is
especially helping us with the follow up of people that we have talked with in
the parks. The place where we meet on
Fridays to worship is called
Pastor Beto and Arthur led a leadership retreat in Puerto Bermudez. There were 13 participants in all from Puerto Bermudez and Palcazu. The Lord moved in a mighty way in these people freeing them from spiritual strongholds in their lives. One man, Gilberto, brought one of his friends, Nestor, an alcoholic, with him, and Nestor gave his life to Jesus. Flor, the wife of Mario Sillo, who was killed last month, participated in the retreat, and is doing great. The Lord is giving her strength and boldness to share His Word, and the church in Palcazu is growing. Please pray that all of these people will continue to grow in the Lord Jesus, and will be able to become more involved in discipleship and eventually even train others.

During this retreat, we had a visit from Tito and Mari, a couple that was baptized in Puerto Bermudez last year when we were there with the Praise Band. They were participating in a discipleship group, but will be moving to Oxapampa because of their job. For some time, Arthur and Pastor Beto have been praying about beginning the discipleship ministry in Oxapampa, but they didn’t have a contact. Now, hopefully, Tito and Mari can begin a discipleship group there. Please pray that God will help them with this, if it is His Will.
The last day of the retreat, Mary Alice led a Kid’s Club workshop for the 13 participants in the retreat and for 5 of the teachers from the school where Pablo Paredes’wife, Floria, is the director. In the afternoon, they led a Kid’s Club where 135 kids participated. The teachers are possibly interested in having a Kid’s Club every week, even though the school is not Christian. Please pray that God will work everything out so that they can begin a Kid’s Club.

Please give
praise to the Lord for bringing us additional persons called to be part of
the missionary team in
We pray that God is drawing you closer and closer to Him every day. God bless you. We love you.
Yours in Christ,
